Missing You
New Layout!! WHOOO HOO!!! This has been a work in progress for quite some time, but I'm glad it's up now.
I haven't really been blogging here because I'm mostly at my LJ, but I had to post something to celebrate the new layout. Right now, I'm currently about to start my 4th week of student teaching and I'll be graduating in May with my Master's Degree and Teacher Certification. I'm feeling out the job market now, so if you know of any open Social Studies positions in the LA area, let me know.
Hope everyone is dong great! Come visit me on LJ sometime!

Wake Me Up When September Ends
Yes, call off the search parties...I'm alive! LOL! I know, I know Thomas! I promise I will start blogging and then I never do...but hey's it's only been a little over a month, so it's not that bad. Hmmm...much to talk about, but where to start?
School: Well, I'm about one month into the new semester and let's just say, I want it to end already. I'm SOOO sick of school...which is ironic because I'm going to be a teacher...so I'll just say I'm sick of being "the student". I'm sick of taking classes and pretending to be interested when all I'm thinking about is the end: the end of the period, the end of the day, the end of the year. My Thursday Medieval History class...we spent the whole period (and I was even 1/2 hour late due to the extremely suckiness of Loyola's shuttle system) looking at A TAPESTRY. No joke! She went on and on and on about this tapestry and I was just like...OMG, you gotta be kidding me. How is this going to help me? And the worse part was...all those little undergrads were all eating it up and I'm just sitting there thinking...OMG...aren't you tired yet? Man, I hope I was never that eager.
However, on the most part...my classes are okay. I'm annoyed with my night class at the community college though: Physical Geography. The guy talks in ONE TONE and basically copies notes from the book! I bet I could take all three tests for the class right now and manage to get by with a passing grade on all of them without studying a single thing. I took most of this stuff in some capacity already and I find the way this guy teaches insulting to my intelligence. And then this kiss ass older dude who sat by me last week was like "Oh I LOVE your teach ing style" and I'm sitting there thinking...DUDE, it's not gonna affect your grade...why are you kissing his ass? GRR...how much longer until December?
I still haven't gotten my student teaching assignment for next semester...in fact I haven't really heard anything, but I guess that's typical because they told us before we wouldn't hear anything until around October, so cross your fingers I get my first choice school which is close to home and close to the expressway so I can head off to my Monday seminars right after I'd get out.
Television: Well, the TV season HAS started and already I did a little rearranging with my schedule this year. This is what it looks like as of right now:
Sundays: Charmed, Grey's Anatomy
Mondays: 7th Heaven, Prison Break, 24 (in January)
Tuesdays: Gilmore Girls, Supernatural
Wednesdays: One Tree Hill, Veronica Mars, Lost
Thursdays: Smallville, The OC, Everwood, CSI, Reunion (JAM packed!)
Other important notes: I watched the premiere of "Just Legal" and although it was cute, that show was crushed in the ratings and will probably be the first show to get cancelled on the WB. Besides, I just like literally got into "Prison Break" this weekend and watched all 5 episodes that have been aired so far. I will be watching the premiere of "Commander-in-Chief", but I won't be a regular viewer because it's up against "Supernatural" and I have night class on Tuesdays, so everything has to be watched on tape. I guess if I like it enough, I could still tape or download it...but we'll see. I'm also watching the premiere of "Alias", but with MV leaving (sorry if that ruins it for you...but it's not exactly a big secret), I have no interest in continuing to watch this massacre of a show unfold. I only have room for one of those this season and that's "One Tree Hill"!
Anyway, speaking of "One Tree Hill", I still have no idea what the hell is gonna happen this season and it irritates me to know end...but I don't want to get myself riled up again...but I will say that MS is a royal jackass for ruining this show and the heart of it: N/H. I hope a house drops on his head.
Websites: I really, really want to change the layout for this site, but I have no idea what to do still. I thought maybe promo pictures would inspire me, but not alot has been released yet...it's weird. I was thinking about doing Favorite Couples or something...but I don't know. I still need to think.
In other news, I finally opened up my OTH music thread companion website (it went up with the 50th thread last week), but it's still no where near complete. I still have quite a bit of work to do, but please check it out here and tell me what you think: Drawn to the Rhythm.
Well, I guess that's all for now...wish I had more to say...but I really don't. :)

Dare You To Move
Happy Birthday to me! Yes, my friends, I turn 25 today! I'm not in my mid-20s!! Whatever happened to my early 20s? Man, they just flew by...must be the fact that I'm STILL IN SCHOOL! Well, this is the last year of school and then I get to move out and go into the real world and finally make my mark. I hope it's ready for me! :)
Anyway, I feel really bad about not posting here, but I really just don't have a whole lot to say. I post here and there on my LJ, but nothing too deep...just mainly me bitching about OTH (yeah, I'm still hung up on that show...sad right? ;) ). Hey...at least I got Thomas to join me over at the music thread on Fanforum...which is very exciting! I love talking about music...on or off the show. Speaking of music...I thought it was kind of funny that "Sway" by The Perishers is going to be on the VM soundtrack coming out next month because I've always associated that song with OTH. I'm curious to see how they're going to use it on the show.
Shauna leaves for school on Friday. I'm going with to help move her in and set up and her room and everything. She's got a single again this year, but in a way better building than last year. She's going to try to balance six classes this year, so I'm definitely rooting for her to do well. It's going to be weird not seeing her everyday, but we'll talk on the phone all the time and I'm sure I'll go and visit her and she'll come home and stuff. It's not like we won't talk to each other.
Speaking of school, I thought I finally evaded the Loyola curse but it looks like they're trying to mess with me again this year. I got a call the other day saying that my Saturday morning class (Philosophy of Education) was cancelled due to low enrollment...so I was freaking out because I need this class to graduate and I really don't want to have to take it during student teaching (even though you're allowed one class). So, I emailed my advisor and a person in the school of education office trying to see if I can get into the closed Wednesday night section (yes, this means I would miss OTH and would have to watch it on tape...but school is more important), but I got an email back saying that the section is going to be added back and she's going to try to get 2 more people in the class or something. I checked my schedule online and it still wasn't added back yet...but she told me that they were just working on it like today. Man, I really hope it works out because I had everything perfect for me. So, cross your fingers everything works out! :)
Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm totally into VM now. Shauna and I downloaded all of the episodes and had like a 2 day marathon and just completely fell in love with the series. Now, I have to watch it! I'll probably just tape and watch LOST (because I don't tape to keep LOST and I'll probably keep VM) and watch right after...but we'll have to see. I might be taping everything on Wednesday...but I hope I'm home. I'm really looking forward to the new TV season starting up again (for some shows more than others...) and can't wait to see what unfolds.
Anyway, I just wanted to post something to mark my birthday. Who knew 25 could feel so old and young at the same time! ;)

What Are You Afraid Of
Yeah, Yeah Thomas. I know...I'm a HUGE liar! I said I would blog back in May, but I didn't. I guess I was just too emotionally scarred from the OTH finale. ;) However, I figured it was time for me to blog again. I actually remember when I used to do this regularly and would tease Anna mercilessly for never blogging. Who would have thought I'd turn into her? :p [ducks] Anyway, down to business...some important things to discuss!
New Layout: Yup, it's getting to be that time again. While I loved my OTH layout to pieces (even though the show is pissing me off more than ever), I think it's time for a change. I anticipate the layout going up by August (right Anna? ;) ). I have an idea for the next one, but I'm not saying anything right now...but it won't be that much of a surprise. I have to work on a sketch though and see if it can be pulled off the way I want it.
Harry Potter: Yeah, so we're like 2 days from HP-day and there are spoilers/foilers running around? Please don't post that shit near me. I thought about reading them a million times, but then I said no way. They're probably fake anyway because how can there be spoilers with the injunction and the gag orders? I'm not going to get riled up over nothing. I'll read...then I'll get riled up. Ron/Hermione better become a reality or I'll feel like my intelligence was insulted for 5 books and 5 years. Hopefully, that won't be the case and on Saturday I'll be very, very happy! I had 2 copies (one for me and one for Shauna) pre-ordered since January from Amazon and I can't wait to read!!
Traveling: I really, really wanted to visit Anna out in CA this summer, but I just couldn't afford it. Plane fare was out of this world high and I wouldn't have enough money to do it right...like go down to LA and stuff like that...so hopefully, maybe in the fall I can go. I'll have to work something out. I may be going to Wilmington in October...but that's kind of up in the air as well. It all depends on when the group is going and how much it's going to cost me. I guess it's all okay cause I'm going to Florida soon anyway. Man, I need a tan.
School: Finally, those bastards are making things easier. My last year and financial aid actually got it right this time. I'm so happy. I'm hoping I'll get the school I want for student teaching in the spring too. Man...time sure is flying!
24, OTH & the New TV Season: Well, pretty soon all our favorite series will be going back to film and we'll start getting our first taste of what the new seasons will be like. I'm so excited for Supernatural! I've seen the pilot and it's amazing! I've convinced so many people to start watching 24 this summer, it's unbelievable (thanks to the Tony/Michelle love). I'm dubbing Season 4 tapes for like 3 people. I'm on my second batch right now. It sucks that we have to wait so long for Season 5, but I know it will be worth the wait. Just leave T/M alone please! OTH, on the other hand, pissed me off last season. It's like everyone forgot how to freaking write...with the exception of a handful of episodes. Haley was barely in it and when she was she was acting stupid. Nathan started acting like a pod person and all the foreshadowing with Dan/Deb/Chris went nowhere. I'm giving this show one more chance. The next time it pisses me off with N/H...that's it. Mark better realize what a goldmine this couple is or there is no way it's going to survive in a new time slot by itself on Wednesdays. No more Gilmore Girls to cushion it...no it's all by itself. The premiere better impress me...or I don't know if I really want to stick around for the whole season. Other than that, I'm also really psyched for "Gilmore Girls". I've rediscovered my love of the show when Shauna bought the DVDs and we just marathoned them. We've also recently just got into the FX series "Rescue Me". We happened to catch the end of one episode last month because of...if you can believe this...a really cool song (Rubyhorse "Fell on Bad Days") and then we ended up taping the first few episodes of the second season, while we rented season one on DVD from Blockbuster. Great show...though it's not for the squeamish and great music.
Alright, I guess that's all there is to say. Oh wait...FU Emmy voters! How could you snub Lauren Graham again? GRRR ARGH!
