I'm sorry guys (especially you, Thomas), I've totally neglected to blog...but I'm here now! I just updated my Ipod mini a second ago and it's kind of pathetic. I haven't even used like 1/3 of my storage space. I just keep adding songs and songs and it's not enough! LOL! I think it holds over 1000 songs and I don't even have 1000 songs on this computer! Anyway, it's been a long month and I've got a few things to talk about, so I'll break it down by category.
School- School is winding down. I only have 3 classes left in each class! Two weeks from Thursday I'll be finished. I'm very excited. I cannot wait for this year to be over with. I finished my observations last Tuesday, which completed my required 30 hours (I had 31!) and I couldn't be happier. I registered for my classes for Fall semester last Thursday, but I just got this email on Friday talking about some other required humanties class that I might be forced to take, but I hope not because they told me that they would waive it if I took Economics (I did last semester) and Geology (which I am in the fall). I swear to God if they don't uphold my waive, I'll be very upset. I have everything planned perfectly. Right now, I'm taking Classroom Assessment on Monday afternoon, Philosophy of Education on Saturday Morning (you heard that right...but it may change), and Geology at the community college by me on Monday and Wednesday nights, but this may change too because I found a better section of it at another community college on just Monday nights, so I may change some of my schedule around. Just have to get a few things confirmed first. So, keep your fingers crossed for me!
Work- Subbing has been alright. It slowed down for a bit because of spring break, but it's picking back up a little and should stay steady until the end of May. I gave her my availability after I finish school. I also believe I'll be temping this summer. I've been in contact with the person in charge at a temping firm and she has my resume and told me to contact her a few days before I'd be willingly to start. So, I'm thinking first week in June. We'll see how it goes. I just need something steady for a couple of months. Hopefully, it won't be too bad. I really wanted to take this Geology course over the summer, but it's every day Monday-Thrusday in the morning and there is no way I can do that because I have to work. Maybe if I was still in retail, I'd be able to do that...but I'm not going back to that, so no way.
Carbondale Trip: I went down by Shauna for a few days at the end of last month/beginning of this month. I rode down with Shauna (who was up for the OTH tour) on a Thursday and I came back home on a Sunday. We had alot of fun. We mainly just hung out in her room and watched movies. We did go out to the mall and dinner on Friday night. She still went to class Friday too and I was in her room for 3 hours by myself and that's when the Pope stuff was going on. (I was getting whiplash because no one knew if he was alive, dead or "near death". It's really sad, but I can't help myself when I think about the history in all of this with the conclave. I'm definitely going to make sure I gather some resources so I can talk to my class about it when I'm teaching. This is something that I've lived and I think remembering it is very important.) We also had a OTH marathon and made fun of poser boy alot. LOL! Shauna even took me to the train and waited until it left. Isn't she sweet? Awww.
One Tree Hill Tour: We had a pretty good time. We didn't have any special guests (like the other tours) and we didn't even get a meet and greet! We were only one of two venues that didn't get it because of the curfew. I'm going to post my review that I posted on the boards below:
Yeah, so Shauna and I got back a little bit ago. We left after Jessica Harp sang "Memphis" because we didn't feel like staying since there was no meet and greet. I yelled at the stupid bitchy lady with dark hair who ran the CDs line. She tried to convince me that not every show had a Meet & Greet and that Boston didn't have one and I said..."Yes, they did" and we went back and forth. God, she was a such a bitch.
We left the house around 1pm and when we turned on the radio the first thing we heard was the duet! Tyler and Joie were on the local radio station performing. If only I knew they were going to be on there, I would have went to the station because I know where it is (I also taped Joie and Tyler on the WGN Morning News that I'm sure most of you saw by now. I was grossed out by the H/C unpleasantness they advertised (yes, that scene) before they showed them on the show).
So, we got to the city and I ended up getting a little lost, but we found a parking lot right across the street unexpectantly from the House of Blues and we parked. It cost me $17 bucks, but it was better than having to walk! There was a line for the general admission people when we got there around 2:45, but we went around to the restuarant and there was hardly anyone there when we first got there. It's a beautiful place and the food was good. We think we might have saw either part of the Wreckers' band (maybe Jessica Harp...this blonde chick with long hair kept using the house phone) and/or Tyler's band in a back room in the restuarant. We kept looking around to see if anyone was there...but no. Just more people. We left the restaurant and went to find the pass the line...but there already was a HUGE line...for the pass-the-line. We got caught in the rain and they finally let us in around 6:05pm. The show started on time as well around 7:00pm.
Tyler and Joie were both AMAZING, but we couldn't help but feel cheated that we had no MC AND no meet and greet. Totally unfair, considering they should have just moved it to the House of Blues hotel which is like right here. I have no idea what's going on. We waited out in the pouring rain for about 90 minutes and for what? We did get tour T-Shirts, posters, and autographed Joie CDs. I managed to sneak my camera in, but they were like freaking Nazis. Seriously, I talked to so many people who got them taken away...also people's water got taken away, but mine didn't. Completely weird. With the camera, I had to look to see where the security guard was in relation to me because he was right on the side of us flashlighting people. But I managed to get maybe 10 pictures...which is completely unfair considering people had their camera phones and got tons of pictures.
Joie was very beautiful and was wearing the green dress and orange beads. She sang five songs (Songs in My Pockets, Movin' Out, John and Junior, Sunday Train, and Crazy Girls). She was still sick and you can hear it in her voice when she was talking, but not when she was singing. I don't know how she did it. I think the whole ordeal we went through was worth it just to see her perform. The crowd was on its best behavior when she was singing those slow songs. She even commented on how quiet we were cause how usually people talked. I saw one person with a sign that was wishing her happy birthday and she thanked them for that. When she was playing John and Junior, she coughed in the middle of the song and went "I'm sorry" and kept playing. It was so cute. Joie's hair is blonde and wavy, but not like the fake blonde Haley has in the preview. I wouldn't mind seeing Haley's hair like how Joie's was. She plays the keyboard and the guitar so well and she has such a commanding stage presence I can see great things ahead for her. YES, she DID the sexy dance...a few times and everyone cheered. I hope Haley does it for Nathan!
Tyler is a bouncing ball of energy. It's exhausting watching him jump up and down and run around. He's just SOOOO into the performance and that makes him a great performer. You can tell he loves singing and touring (he said about how there was only a couple days left and he was going to miss it...actually one day tomorrow). He sympathized with us who had to wait in the rain and dedicated a song to us...I forget which one. He played like 8 or 9 songs (including Pink & Black, Our Time, Glad, When It Comes, Kiss On, he did a new one that I really liked and Gloria...of course! ). The duet was the second to last song he did and it sounded better live then it does on the soundtrack or on the show and it was the first time I didn't picture Haley and Chris, but rather Tyler and Joie. She kissed him on the cheek before and after their duet. You can tell they are great friends...but JUST friends. Tyler was very good, but I'm not in love with him like some of you guys are...but I enjoyed him greatly and I loved his music. He looks so much more built in person then he does on the show and his hair was a MILLION times better. He was really attentive to the audience as well. He's just so boyish and completely harmless with that smile of his. I wish him well because I never want to see Chris on the show again.
Shauna and I were getting so tired that we camped out in the bathroom between Tyler's and The Wreckers' set. We were on the cramped, smelly, wet dance floor for Joie and Tyler's sets. My feet hurt like hell. We stayed back by the bar for the Wreckers. They sang a few of their songs including "The Good Kind". Michelle did "All You Wanted" and "Goodbye to You" and I waited until Jessica did "Memphis" which is my favorite song by her and then we left early.
Oh and about the Hilarie thing. People on the side of me thought they saw her in the balconies on the side by the stage. I did see a skinny, blonde girl who looked like Hilarie, but it was too hard to tell. It could have been considering Chad was in Detroit, but stayed backstage. It was really crappy that we didn't get a meet and greet or a MC, but we can't do anything about it now.
TV Shows----->
Well, hiatus is over! All of my shows will back back new starting this week. I'm both excited and nervous, especially where One Tree Hill is concerned.
24: Has been the one constant in an otherwise lopsided TV season for me. This show just never ceases to amaze me and this past Monday's episode was one of my favorites of the season...if not THE favorite. It was just so suspenseful and even kind of scary at times. Plus, I'm so happy Michelle ain't dating Old Man Bill. Right Shauna? LOL! Tony/Michelle just need to do it already. LOL!
Charmed: Last week's episode was the best one of the year...maybe one of the best of the series. I'm so happy Piper and Leo are together for good now. I found myself crying at just how strong their love is no matter crazy stuff has been thrown their way. It's the same hope I have for Nathan and Haley on OTH.
Joan of Arcadia: Whoa...let's say this show was boring me, but that episode a couple weeks ago where Adam admitted to cheating on Joan? WOW! Shauna and I were just watching it in disbelief (I was down by her in Carbondale). Just completely sucked me right back into the show. Plus, this new bad dude, is kind of hottie. He was on Buffy too. LOL! With that being said, I wouldn't be upset if it got cancelled...but it's something nice to watch.
Lost: RIP Boone! That was seriously a great episode. I actually watched it right when I got home from night class too. Can't wait to see what happens! This is definitely a show that I've gotten into more and more as the season has gone along.
Alias: Haven't watched this week's past ep yet. I don't know. Alias just hasn't been that ON for me this year. I miss Season 1 and Season 2. The only episode that was dead on this year was when Syd and Vaughn went undercover as married agents. I want more stuff like that! This stand-alone stuff is just tacky! Bring back the cliffhangers!
The OC: I wonder why I watched this show anymore? Oh yeah, I'm secretly hoping Ryan and Summer will hook up. That's about all I'm holding on for ever since Lindsay left. Marissa and Trey are kind of cute though...anything to save me from R/M, Round 5001.
Smallville: Another show I might axe next season if it doesn't get better. This past episode was actually good though, with Lex splitting into two people, but I'd wish they'd stop stealing shit from Buffy. Naughty, Naughty Steve DeKnight! ;) Will Chloe/Lex ever be in another scene alone? Probably not. It's like a rule on Smallville.
Summerland: Yeah, I caught up and finished the first part of the season. I watched like 5 eps in a row on tape because of 24 and then I watched the last 3 pretty quickly after they aired. I might do the same thing with Everwood, although tomorrow's ep looks good.
One Tree Hill: Last but not least...the bane of my existence and my obsession. Sometimes I wonder why I even watch this show with all the stress it causes me. I don't know...maybe I really do have hope. I know a shitload of spoilers, but not how to connect them all, only that they seem really interesting. Now if only the WB would stop using the show as their own personal cash cow. I mean a Cingular vote? Race Car driving? PULEEZE! Can't wait for this season to be over. Will save me ALOT of stress. I just want N/H to be happy...then I'll be happy.
TV Show Talk End--------->
Alright, that's everything for now. I'll try to blog more that we're nearly into May sweeps and the end of the year. Can't wait to see what happens! :)
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: If you have a cingular phone, please, please, please vote on Tuesday night for the OTH UDECIDE becuase I do not under any circumstances want Nathan kissing Taylor just to get revenge on Haley. Go to the WB.com for more details!
