In "With Arms Outstretched"--->After fighting with Dan (Paul Johansson) about basketball, Nathan (James Lafferty) takes performance enhancers to help his game. However, after he collapses on the court the side-effects prove life-altering: Nathan ends up in the hospital, Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods) kicks Dan out of the house, and Nathan and Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) solify their dating relationship with promises of need and want. Meanwhile, a jealous Peyton (Hilarie Burton) attempts to rekindle her relationship with Lucas (Chad Michael Murrary), but he seems to be occupied with Brooke (Sophia Bush). This episode was written by Mark Schwahn and directed by Greg Prange.
